Looks like a prehistoric river to me..... :) Im glad they let you know this fantastic sight was 40 miles ahead of you. Good thing you didnt miss it ;)
40 miles outside of Bend has got to be obscure... the eastern part of Oregon is obscure!

We drove 4o miles out of Bend, OR to get this picture so we thought that might make it obscure. I forgot to read the sign but it must have been interesting:)
